American Friends Service Committee – Spring Donor Acquisition Package
American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) and Schultz & Williams (S&W) created a very successful acquisition control package we had been mailing for five years. Not willing to rest on our success, S&W continued to test new package concepts, hoping to beat the successful control.
From these efforts, the “Boot Tag” package was born. It incorporated the best elements of our most successful in-house appeals. Focused on ending the Iraq War and pursuing a more peaceful solution, the package included a mock invoice for the Iraq War, an In Memoriam card to honor one of the fallen soldiers, a timeline showing the history and experience of AFSC and an involvement device--a sign and return soldier boot tag. When the boot tag was returned with the donor’s gift, AFSC placed the tag on one of the boots (one for every fallen soldier in the war) displayed in their nationally acclaimed traveling exhibit, Eyes Wide Open.
The Boot Tag package beat the control by 30%.
