The Heinz Center
news & events

October 2009–Schultz & Williams (S&W) is pleased to continue our work with the Heinz Center, building off of our recently completed assessment and identification of their strategic priorities.

The Heinz Center was established in 1995 to carry on the work of the late Senator John Heinz. Located in Washington D.C., the Heinz Center is at the crossroads of science and environmental policy. Dedicated to improving both the scientific and environmental foundations upon which environmental policy is made, the Center brings together leaders from business, government, academia and environmental groups to brainstorm solutions that are both scientifically and economically sound. Reaching out to multiple sectors that are critical to environmental policymaking allows the Heinz Center to produce effective, practical solutions to environmental challenges.

Schultz & Williams is working to help the Heinz Center define its vision for the future. Through a collaborative effort, Schultz & Williams will test ideas, identify issues and opportunities, and gain feedback, which will help to create a new mission and vision. These will be pivotal in outlining the Center’s capabilities and shaping its future.

This new vision will allow the Center to identify opportunity areas and create strategic goals to fill any identified gaps. Through workshops, Schultz & Williams will develop and prioritize preliminary goals, as well as identify objectives for each goal. This full scale strategic planning process will provide findings and recommendations that will serve as a roadmap for the Heinz Center to follow during implementation.

Founded in 1987, Schultz & Williams is a national consulting firm headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Today S&W works with nonprofits throughout the United States and continues to exemplify its legacy as one of the first firms in the country to combine the principles of development, management and marketing into our consulting services—an approach that proves successful for nearly every client challenge.
