October 2009–Schultz & Williams (S&W) Vice President Shirley Trauger begins her work with The Philadelphia Orchestra on an interim staffing basis. The Philadelphia Orchestra, founded in 1900, continues to distinguish itself every year as one of the world’s leading orchestras. The orchestra serves as an important cultural ambassador for Philadelphia, with recent concerts at Carnegie Hall and an Asian tour planned for the Spring, as well as a community resource through its education and outreach programs. Schultz & Williams will further this tradition of excellence by supplementing the orchestra’s development efforts through interim staffing. Schultz & Williams’ interim staffing efforts aid organizations in sustaining their ongoing fundraising activity while helping to refine the longer-term strategic direction of their programs. In this case S&W will provide interim staffing in individual giving. Through this work Schultz & Williams will keep the Orchestra’s annual giving program moving forward, including support and direction for major gifts and mail and telefunding campaigns. Schultz & Williams will draw from our considerable knowledge and expertise in the development arena to provide a framework for the Orchestra’s evolving development program. S&W’s assignment includes ongoing counsel and program direction as the Orchestra moves out of campaign mode to focus on building support for general operations through a thriving annual fund. Schultz & Williams will be on hand to provide council to the staff, while helping to shift the focus of the ongoing individual giving program to more of a prospect-focused model. In addition the firm is advising on the search to fill open positions. Founded in 1987, Schultz & Williams is a national consulting firm headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Today S&W works with nonprofits throughout the United States and continues to exemplify its legacy as one of the first firms in the country to combine the principles of development, management and marketing into our consulting services—an approach that proves successful for nearly every client challenge. |
