October 2007– This past September the ePhilanthropy Foundation (EPF) announced the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) as a winner of the 2007 International ePhilanthropy Award for the Best Integrated Online and Offline ePhilantrhopy Campaign sponsored by 4ll Karma. The awards luncheon was held at the Harvard Club in New York City where the assembled crowd gathered to honor “the very best organizations from around the world that are using the Internet to engage millions of people in support of great causes”.

Schultz & Williams (S&W) created the print components of the campaign, including an acquisition campaign, which included a four-page letter, petition, reply, BRE and featured a 12” x 18” “Friends for Peace” window sign to be displayed in homes, storefronts, cars, etc. Current donors received a version that could be customized, for example “Artist for Peace” or “Mom for Peace”. Multiple campaign components included the acquisition mailing to one million households, e-mail alerts to donors and supporters and the sign inserted into AFSC’s donor magazine. Donors who received the customized package or received the magazine were given the opportunity to take a photograph of their “personalized” sign and upload the photo onto AFSC’s on-line micro site and photograph system. This award-winning effort has drawn more than 3,000 supporters to participate in the on-line “Friends for Peace” photo program.

Since 2001, Schultz & Williams has successfully provided consulting and full-capacity direct marketing services to AFSC. S&W executes more than 15 appeal, acquisition, renewal and donor communication mailings every year on behalf of the Service Committee.
