November 2007– Philadelphia’s Please Touch Museum® —the country’s first museum for children under seven year olds—is growing and moving to Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park. This epic move in fall 2008 will expand the Museum’s exhibit space to three times its current size, will restore this national historic landmark (originally constructed as the Art Gallery for the 1876 Centennial Exhibition) and will advance the status of Please Touch to the country’s foremost museum for children. Schultz & Williams has been retained by Please Touch Museum to execute a fully integrated multi-channel public phase fundraising campaign to finish this $88 million project. The campaign embraces the entire community with opportunities for families and philanthropists alike to permanently engrave their names on commemorative pavers set into an engaging and delightful sidewalk maze leading to Memorial Hall’s impressive front doors. To achieve the goals of the campaign, two distinctive direct mail packages have been designed to reach specific audiences including the Museum’s current members and donors and the general public through specific list and geographic targets. In an effort to maximize communication, increase support and broaden the Museum’s base of support, Schultz & Williams is launching an integrated campaign that includes mail, email and on-line fundraising components. The campaign will reach family and donor audiences over a five-month period leading up to, and corresponding with, the public phase announcement of the campaign. By the time the full campaign is announced to the public in March 2008, more than 100,000 household impressions will have been made through this multi-channel initiative. Schultz & Williams and Please Touch are working hand-in-hand to execute a strategic public phase fundraising and communications plan that underscores the Museum’s move to Memorial Hall as one of the most significant openings in Philadelphia in decades. Founded in 1987, Schultz & Williams is a national consulting firm headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
