November 2007– Schultz & Williams Direct goes green working with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified printers this fall. "FSC is a nonprofit organization devoted to encouraging the responsible management of the world’s forests. FSC sets high standards that ensure forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible, socially beneficial, and economically viable way." World Wildlife Foundation, Sierra Club and Ducks Unlimited sanction FSC. Specifically, as an FSC certified paper consumer, Schultz & Williams does not support the use of paper manufactured from wood where logging is associated with habitat loss, displacement of indigenous peoples, water pollution or violence against humans and wildlife. Working with certified printers allows Schultz & Williams to make use of FSC-certified paper to print millions of direct mail packages annually with the FSC trademarked "checkmark and tree" logo. This ensures our clients that the paper used for their direct mail appeal and acquisition campaigns is made from wood harvested from well-managed forests. Mary Schultz, production manager of S&W, is attending an FSC sanctioned conference this month in Philadelphia to enhance our role as a viable partner with printers who have earned chain-of-custody certification from Forest Stewardship Council. Founded in 1987, Schultz & Williams is a national consulting firm headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Today S&W works with nonprofits throughout the United States and continues to exemplify its legacy as one of the first firms in the country to combine the principles of development, management and marketing into our consulting services - an approach that proves successful for nearly every client challenge. |
