March 2009–Schultz & Williams (S&W) continues to grow its consulting practice in the Washington D.C. region with three new projects. The Heinz Center for Science, Economics and the Environment, Washington, D.C. Established in 1995 to carry on the work of the late Senator John Heinz, The Heinz Center is at the crossroads of science and environmental policy. The Center brings leaders together from business, government, academia, and environmental groups to brainstorm solutions that are both scientifically and economically sound. As The Heinz Center prepares for a new President, Schultz & Williams has been retained to engage Board and staff in a comprehensive planning process. We are evaluating The Heinz Center’s programming, communications and fundraising efforts and creating a strategic roadmap to move the organization forward.
Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, Washington, D.C. The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) was founded six years ago to bridge the conservation movement with the hunting and fishing community. Building on Schultz & Williams’ strategic planning work with TRCP last year, S&W has begun work as Development Counsel to create a Strategic Development Plan. Beginning with an all-day Development Summit for TRCP management, a new major gifts initiative has begun resulting in new engagement by the Board and other stakeholders in the TRCP family. Going forward, Schultz & Williams will work with TRCP to create strong links between its talented senior management, communications, and development team.
Meals On Wheels Association of America, Washington, D.C. Reinforcing Schultz & Williams’ work with MOWAA in 2008, S&W has been invited to present workshops at MOWAA’s annual national conference in San Diego in September 2009. Working with MOWAA, Schultz & Williams has provided development training for senior management and the MOWAA Foundation Board; created a comprehensive major gifts strategy to include individuals, corporations and foundations; provided strategy for direct mail and online fundraising efforts; and created and delivered a three day development training program presented at the National Center for Nutrition Leadership for grassroots Meals On Wheels directors and development officers from around the country.
