Colleen N. Cannon, Director, Development Communications – Colleen brings to Schultz & Williams clients more than 20 years of experience in development and development communications. She has planned, written and managed a wide range of communications projects that help nonprofit organizations meet their fund-raising goals. Colleen has broad experience in writing proposals, case statements and other campaign materials, newsletters, brochures and direct-mail letters. Before joining S&W, Colleen had her own consulting business, which focused on development communications. She served clients in health care, the arts and education, completing projects ranging from proposals to publications. From 1990 through 1995, Colleen served as Director of Development Communications at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In this position, she oversaw all communications supporting the Hospital’s fundraising programs, including proposals, publications, appeal letters, special events materials and stewardship. She also managed the planning and production of all communications for Children’s Hospital’s $100 million capital campaign, including the identity program, case statement, insider’s case statement, kick-off materials, campaign newsletter and award-winning campaign video. Colleen has also held development positions at The Wistar Institute, where she managed corporate and foundation giving, and The Philadelphia Museum of Art, where she coordinated fundraising and events for the Associates, the Museum’s upper-level members. She began her career in development at Drexel University, where she held several positions in development communications. Colleen received her bachelor’s degree cum laude from Bryn Mawr College. She has won awards from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. |
