Matthew Brown, Senior Associate – Matthew Brown joined Schultz & Williams in 2008 after 20 years of experience in communications, fundraising and strategic planning in both the private and nonprofit sectors. Among his S&W clients is Prince George’s African American Museum and Cultural Center (Brentwood, MD), for which he is lead development counsel for an organizational assessment, strategic planning, major gifts and endowment planning. At the conclusion of that work for PGAAMCC, Matt will act as the organization’s interim director of development. At ARCH Development Corporation (Washington, DC), Matt has been lead counsel for branding and marketing efforts, strategic and development planning and an organizational assessment. Additional S&W clients benefiting from Matt’s counsel include Friends of Moccasin Bend National Park (Chattanooga) and The Meals On Wheels Association of America. Prior to joining Schultz & Williams, Matt was the Director of Development for the American Association of Museums (AAM), where he created and directed AAM’s first development department, managing annual giving, major gifts, corporate and foundation relations and sponsorship sales. Matt spent eight years as the Director of External Affairs at the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation (MAAF) and worked for nearly ten years in the advertising business, managing TV, radio, print and new media advertising. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston College and studied physical anthropology at the graduate level at the University of Pittsburgh. He co-produced award-winning public television documentaries with Maryland Public Television, New Jersey Network (NJN) and Great Museums Television. |
