Michele Fetting, Senior Consultant – Michele has a wide range of experience as a Pittsburgh-based writer and marketing consultant. Her focus includes strategic and business planning, corporate identity, development campaigns, public policy and economic development. Michele spent three years with the Heinz Endowments building the internal communications program and working with grant recipients on outreach efforts. She has worked with the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, the FDA, Seagate Technology and the National Council on Science and the Environment. Michele’s international experience includes training women entrepreneurs in Kenya in marketing skills for a U.S. Agency for International Development project. She spent several years in the film and video sector and was associate producer of an award-winning documentary film on the nuclear power industry. Michele has been involved in numerous development efforts, including planning a $30 million capital campaign for the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, an organization involved in protecting the Everglades and Gulf Coast watersheds. She was also involved in the successful campaign to pass Growing Greener – a $625 million, Pennsylvania statewide bond initiative. Michele co-authored The Challenge of the Environmental City: A Pittsburgh Case Study, published by MIT Press, and Sustainable Development in the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Region for the President’s Council on Sustainable Development. Her work has been published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Philadelphia Inquirer. Michele has a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh with a concentration in economic development. She holds a BA in Journalism from Ohio State University. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Marathon, Friends of the Riverfront and the Fox Chapel Area Land Trust. |
