Rick Biddle, Vice President – Rick Biddle brings to clients a high level of experience in finance, strategic planning, operations and fundraising. Rick supports a wide range of clients, with a particular area of expertise in the operation of zoos and museums. Prior to joining Schultz & Williams in 1992, Rick Biddle served for 11 years as Chief Operating Officer of the Zoological Society of Philadelphia, America’s first zoo, which allows him to understand and appreciate the challenges of managing a cultural organization from “the other side of the desk.” Since 1992, Rick has developed and provided oversight for each of the strategic business plans that Schultz & Williams has completed for over 60 zoological clients. Under Rick’s leadership and guidance, S&W recently completed strategic business plans for the Woodland Park Zoo, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and the Northwest Trek Wildlife Park. Rick is the leading management and planning resource in the area of public/private partnerships of zoos throughout the United States. He has completed governance and financial plans to guide the privatization of the Kansas City, Woodland Park (Seattle, WA) Chaffee (Fresno, CA), Detroit and Houston Zoos. He currently supports The Maryland Zoo at Baltimore, The Houston Zoo, Fresno’s Chaffee Zoo, Utah’s Hogle Zoo and the Oregon Zoo with strategic business planning services. Rick has lead the development of strategic plans for a number of cultural attractions and green-space initiatives including Kent County Millennium Park (Grand Rapids, MI), the Fairmount Park Conservancy (Philadelphia, PA), the Atwater Kent Museum (Philadelphia, PA), the Battleship New Jersey (Camden, NJ) and the Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts (Philadelphia, PA). Rick has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Villanova University. |
